Tameka

Tameka is our Founder & CEO, leading the strategic vision and direction of The Power of Girls.
Tameka has over 15 years of experience in experiential marketing, community development and partnership activation. She has also held community relations positions with the Atlanta Falcons (NFL) and Atlanta Dream (WNBA) where she developed programming focused on health and wellness, youth mentoring and women’s initiatives.
A graduate of Old Dominion University, Tameka earned her Bachelor of Science in business administration and marketing. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc and previously served on committees for GoGirlGo! and Usher’s New Look Foundation.

Leslie

Leslie Wells is a Certified Public Accountant and has a background in Accounting and Finance.  She currently outsources her talents to various companies throughout the Atlanta area.  She attended Auburn University where she studied International Business, then went onto Georgia State University to obtain her master’s in finance. While Leslie has grown up as a military child, she now calls Atlanta home.

Joe

Joe has a background in technology innovation and sales. He currently serves as Managing Director SAP in the business group at Accenture.  Joe graduated from the University of South Florida (Tampa Campus) with a degree in Industrial Engineering.  At Accenture, Joe also serves as the African American ERG Co-lead supporting over 6500 ERG members and colleagues. Outside of work, Joe enjoys spending time with family, especially catering to his two young daughters (the real bosses), watching sports (football and soccer), connecting with friends, reading and traveling.

Natalie

Natalie brings over 20 years of public and private sector experience in agriculture, finance, water, transportation, and government relations. She has held leadership roles with the City of Atlanta, CH2M/Jacobs Engineering, and represented DuPont/Pioneer Hi-Bred in international policy forums. A proud Tuskegee University alum, Natalie was a member of the Marching Crimson Piper Band and served as Miss Tuskegee University. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta, Sorority Inc, National Black Lobbyist Association, and Georgia Professional Lobbyist Association, and serves on the Board of Trustees at Tuskegee University.  Originally from Tuskegee, Alabama, she now resides in Smyrna, Georgia.

Rene

Rene Chatfield, a former professional basketball player and with over 15+ years known for her trailblazing efforts as a sports marketing vet who has broken many glass ceilings as being the only “black female” in the room for many fortune 500 brands and companies like Turner Sports, NBA, WNBA, and Nike. As the CEO and Chief Strategist for Chat Champs LLC, Rene runs a successful boutique consulting firm servicing clients ranging from brands like the Jordan Brand to former NBA players Kenny Smith, Dominique Wilkins, Ron Artest and most recently CEO and Founder of HBCU Week Foundation who raised over $50M in scholarship funds for HBCU students in just one year. Rene is very passionate about mentoring young men and women searching for direction in career advice and/or entrepreneurship. She currently serves as the most newly appointed board member of the non-profit Power of Girls.

Dr. Chambers

Tamika currently works for NWEA as Vice President of Partner Accounts supporting International and National Accounts. She previously worked in education as a principal, educator, Director of Curriculum and Assessment and supported teams to open charters schools across the country. She has an independent consulting firm that acts as a Strategic Advisor to the Catalyst for Educational Change organization. She is an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., The Links Inc., and Jack and Jill of America where she gets to share her talents to support her community in various ways.

Jasmine

Jasmine Bell is an attorney who specializes in tech and data privacy law. She was born in Austin, TX and raised in Houston, TX. She attended the University of Texas at Austin where she received a B.S. in Communication Studies in 2016, and she minored in African and African Diaspora Studies. She graduated from Emory Law in 2019 with her JD. She is currently Legal Counsel for Kaleyra, Inc.; an Atlanta-based company that specializes in communications. Previously, she was a legal fellow for the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) in Washington, DC. While attending Emory, she interned with Viacom by working with their live events and entertainment division for MTV, Vh1, and Logo in New York City. Jasmine enjoys spending time with her family and friends and binge watching a good Netflix series with her fur babies.

Whitney

Whitney is a Social Worker and seasoned nonprofit executive who currently serves as the Director of a private foundation that provides funding for scholarships, social action programs, and policy initiatives for the betterment of African American communities across the United States, Bahamas, and UK. Whitney majored in Women’s Studies and Psychology at Emory University and received her MSW from the University of Pennsylvania. Outside of work, Whitney enjoys traveling with friends and family, trying out new restaurants, organizing service projects, attending concerts, and creating core memories with her daughter.

Leiselle

Leiselle has a background in SaaS healthcare, strategic planning and customer success operations. She established herself as a dynamic leader, first in telecommunications and subsequently in healthcare technology. She currently serves in a leadership role for Florence Healthcare. Leiselle is a graduate of Florida A & M University where she studied Business Economics. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling with her family, supporting and cheering on all her children’s activities, volunteering, reading, and occasionally catching up on her favorite shows.
