The Power of Girls Board of Directors provides strategic leadership and oversight for the organization, ensuring its long-term sustainability and impact. Board members are passionate advocates for our mission, dedicated to empowering young women to become confident global leaders. Board members play a crucial role in promoting The Power of Girls within the community and building strong relationships with stakeholders. Each Board member serves a two-year term and actively participates in board meetings, committee work, and organizational events. We seek individuals with diverse backgrounds, expertise, and a deep commitment to our mission to join our dynamic and dedicated Board.

Founder

Tameka Kee

Tameka is our Founder & CEO, leading the strategic vision and direction of The Power of Girls.

Tameka has over 15 years of experience in community development, experiential marketing and partnership activation. She has also held community relations positions with the Atlanta Falcons (NFL) and Atlanta Dream (WNBA) where she developed programming focused on health and wellness, youth mentoring and women’s initiatives.

A graduate of Old Dominion University, Tameka earned her Bachelor of Science in business administration and marketing. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc and previously served on committees for GoGirlGo! and Usher’s New Look Foundation.

Leslie Wells

Leslie Wells is a Certified Public Accountant and has a background in Accounting and Finance. She currently outsources her talents to various companies throughout the Atlanta area. She attended Auburn University where she studied International Business, then went onto Georgia State University to obtain her master’s in finance. While Leslie has grown up as a military child, she now calls Atlanta home.

Dr. Tamika Chambers

Tamika currently works for NWEA as Vice President of Partner Accounts supporting International and National Accounts. She previously worked in education as a principal, educator, Director of Curriculum and Assessment and supported teams to open charters schools across the country. She has an independent consulting firm that acts as a Strategic Advisor to the Catalyst for Educational Change organization. She is an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., The Links Inc., and Jack and Jill of America where she gets to share her talents to support her community in various ways.

Leiselle Clark

Leiselle has a background in SaaS healthcare, strategic planning and customer success operations. She established herself as a dynamic leader, first in telecommunications and subsequently in healthcare technology. She currently serves in a leadership role for Florence Healthcare. Leiselle is a graduate of Florida A & M University where she studied Business Economics. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling with her family, supporting and cheering on all her children’s activities, volunteering, reading, and occasionally catching up on her favorite shows.

Natalie Knight

Natalie brings over 20 years of public and private sector experience in agriculture, finance, water, transportation, and government relations. She has held leadership roles with the City of Atlanta, CH2M/Jacobs Engineering, and represented DuPont/Pioneer Hi-Bred in international policy forums. A proud Tuskegee University alum, Natalie was a member of the Marching Crimson Piper Band and served as Miss Tuskegee University. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta, Sorority Inc, National Black Lobbyist Association, and Georgia Professional Lobbyist Association, and serves on the Board of Trustees at Tuskegee University.  Originally from Tuskegee, Alabama, she now resides in Smyrna, Georgia.

Jasmine Bell

Jasmine Bell is an attorney who specializes in tech and data privacy law. She was born in Austin, TX and raised in Houston, TX. She attended the University of Texas at Austin where she received a B.S. in Communication Studies in 2016, and she minored in African and African Diaspora Studies. She graduated from Emory Law in 2019 with her JD. She is currently Legal Counsel for Kaleyra, Inc.; an Atlanta-based company that specializes in communications. Previously, she was a legal fellow for the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) in Washington, DC. While attending Emory, she interned with Viacom by working with their live events and entertainment division for MTV, Vh1, and Logo in New York City. Jasmine enjoys spending time with her family and friends and binge watching a good Netflix series with her fur babies.

René Chatfield

Rene Chatfield, a former professional basketball player and with over 15+ years known for her trailblazing efforts as a sports marketing vet who has broken many glass ceilings as being the only “black female” in the room for many fortune 500 brands and companies like Turner Sports, NBA, WNBA, and Nike. As the CEO and Chief Strategist for Chat Champs LLC, Rene runs a successful boutique consulting firm servicing clients ranging from brands like the Jordan Brand to former NBA players Kenny Smith, Dominique Wilkins, Ron Artest and most recently CEO and Founder of HBCU Week Foundation who raised over $50M in scholarship funds for HBCU students in just one year. Rene is very passionate about mentoring young men and women searching for direction in career advice and/or entrepreneurship. She currently serves as the most newly appointed board member of the non-profit Power of Girls.

Whitney Jackson

Whitney is a Social Worker and seasoned nonprofit executive who currently serves as the Director of a private foundation that provides funding for scholarships, social action programs, and policy initiatives for the betterment of African American communities across the United States, Bahamas, and UK. Whitney majored in Women’s Studies and Psychology at Emory University and received her MSW from the University of Pennsylvania. Outside of work, Whitney enjoys traveling with friends and family, trying out new restaurants, organizing service projects, attending concerts, and creating core memories with her daughter.

Wole Ralph

Wole Ralph is a nationally recognized leader featured in top publications like The New York Times and Atlanta Journal-Constitution, with appearances on CNN, Fox 5 News, and more. With over two decades of expertise in data analytics, M&A, customer experience, technology, and cloud operations, he leverages business intelligence to drive innovation and enhance customer interactions. As General Manager of Honeywell’s Post, Parcel, and Government Division, he leads strategy, operations, and financial performance, advancing robotics and automation solutions. A summa cum laude graduate of Morris Brown College, he also holds an MPA from Northern Illinois University and an Executive MBA from Georgia State University. Committed to community leadership, Wole has served on various boards, including The Power of Girls and the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, while his daughter, Fari, pursues a PhD at Howard University.

Joe Elibert

Joe has a background in technology innovation and sales. He currently serves as Managing Director SAP in the business group at Accenture. Joe graduated from the University of South Florida (Tampa Campus) with a degree in Industrial Engineering. At Accenture, Joe also serves as the African American ERG Co-lead supporting over 6500 ERG members and colleagues. Outside of work, Joe enjoys spending time with family, especially catering to his two young daughters (the real bosses), watching sports (football and soccer), connecting with friends, reading and traveling.

Ebony Madison

Ebony Madison is a Senior Manager in Payments Technology, leading global projects and streamlining processes to deliver top-tier products and services. With a background in insurance and a successful transition into healthcare, insurtech, and now payments at a Fortune-ranked company, she brings expertise in project management, SaaS implementation, strategic planning, and stakeholder engagement. Ebony actively mentors new hires, supports young women in their career development, and volunteers with Braven to empower underrepresented college students. She is an alumna of several leadership and development programs and holds a BA in Public Relations/Communications from Ursuline College. In her spare time, she enjoys pilates, concerts, travel, and time with loved ones.

Tricia Farquharson

Tricia Farquharson is a recent transplant to the Atlanta area.

Ms. Farquharson has been an educator for the past 20 years. Previously, she worked with the District of Columbia Public Schools as a Program Manager in the Office of Special Education. In addition to leadership within education, she served as Operations Director for an outpatient mental health clinic in Maryland where she built operational systems and procedures to improve service delivery for family and child therapy.

Content Manager

Kamelah Muhammad

Kamelah Muhammad hails from the city of Chicago and is a proud alum of Florida A&M University, earning her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing and minor in Public Relations. She later received her Masters in Business Administration from the University of Georgia. Today, Kamelah works in Social Responsibility for the National Basketball Association (NBA) in New York City where she is responsible for developing and implementing programs and activations for NBA Cares and social justice commitments. One of her more notable accomplishments in the role is around her work with the NBA’s overall HBCU efforts and making history with its first ever NBA HBCU Classic during the 2022 NBA All-Star Weekend which has continued year over year. Prior to joining the NBA, Kamelah served as the Director of Partnership Marketing for Boy &; Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) in Atlanta where she led marketing & communications strategies for various corporate partners. She has also worked on account management teams at marketing and event agencies working with brands including Moet Hennessy, Beat Electronics and more.

In 2014, Kamelah began her own 501(c)(3) nonprofit called Sisterhood of the Traveling Heart, Incorporated (SOTTH) which focuses on empowering young girls and women. Since then, SOTTH has partnered with organizations domestically and internationally to host special events and projects. Her organization efforts have been featured in ABC News, Huffington Post, Blavity and Because of them We Can, to name a few. In 2023, Kamelah was inducted into FAMU’s 40 Under 40 inaugural class. In the same year, she also received the inaugural NextGen Leadership Award from the National Black MBA Association, Incorporated – Atlanta Chapter. And in 2017, she was named and recognized as a “Who’s Who in Black Atlanta.”

Kamelah continues to serve her community by volunteering with various organizations having served on the board of directors for the National Black MBA Association Incorporated – Atlanta Chapter, Marketing Co-Chair for Friends of FAM,

Incorporated which provides financial assistance and mentorship to incoming and returning FAMU students from Atlanta and a Lead Mentor for The Power of Girls, Incorporated which mentors middle-school aged girls in Atlanta. Kamelah is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, a real estate investor in Chicago and Atlanta and an advocate for raising awareness about congenital heart disease because of her nephew who was born with a rare heart defect.

Samaria Witherspoon

Samaria Janae Witherspoon, also known as Ms. Sam, is originally from South Carolina, but currently based in Atlanta, Georgia. Sam is a LPC, which is a fancy word for Licensed Professional Counselor. Within the Atlanta metropolitan area, she provides individual, group and family counseling to those that are struggling with trauma, depression, aggression, grief, substance abuse, and behavioral and emotional issues. Sam is a two-time Howard University Alumna. She received both her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Master of Education in School Psychology and Counseling Services from Howard University in Washington, DC. Sam is also a self-published author of Uncovering Toxic Journey’s. Uncovering Toxic Journey’s normalizes one’s toxic behaviors within their childhood, relationships, friendships and overall livelihood. Sam has an extensive experience of 8 years assessing, planning, implementing, and providing support services to children and families with behavioral and emotional issues. In her free time, Sam enjoys spending time with family, traveling, brunching with her friends, shopping, and binge-watching Netflix.

Eboney Carroll

Eboney is a nonprofit professional that specializes in social services & grants. She currently works at Horizon Housing Foundation to provide safe, affordable housing for families and seniors and support them through programs that promote economic self-sufficiency and improve their quality of life. Before moving to Atlanta from Los Angeles, Eboney worked to enhance educational opportunities for children who are experiencing homelessness. She was also a family advocate for domestic abuse survivors and ran a long-term at a domestic violence shelter. As a first-generation Jamaican-American, Eboney takes pride in her culture and history. She has a minor in African American studies and studied in South Africa for 6 months.

Wellness Advisor

Shyah Dickerson

Shyah Dickerson is an intuitive and empathic soul committed to personal and generational healing. She is a full-spectrum doula, writer, and Reiki Level II Practitioner. Shyah completed her birth work training with Mama Glow, a Brooklyn based organization dedicated to improving the experience of birth for women everywhere. She was inspired to pursue her calling as a birth and postpartum doula after she assisted a friend during childbirth. That memorable experience tapped into Shyah’s innate gifts to support, guide, and lift people up to their potential and higher self.
Shyah harnesses an unwavering commitment toward holding space to welcome new life transitions, both in physical and spiritual spaces– that may include new babies, ventures, businesses, dreams, and possibilities.
In addition to this work, Shyah has over 10 years of non-profit marketing experience and has held positions at organizations such as Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Habitat for Humanity International, and All of Me Foundation founded by GRAMMY-Award Winning Songstress Estelle.
A lifelong mentor and activist for elevated consciousness Shyah has a philosophy that, “if we have a shot at a transformed society—justice, peace, and healing begins at the stage of infancy.”
Shyah was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY and currently resides in Atlanta, GA. She is an alumnus of Howard University, where she studied Public Relations and Sociology. Shyah is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. You can keep up with Shyah through her writing at loveliftedme.blog.

Danielle Narcisse

Danielle hails from Virginia where she is a graduate of Hampton University earning her Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management and received her MBA from Troy University. She began her career working for Norfolk Southern Railroad 16 years ago where she has held various leadership positions in Accounting, Customer Operations, Logistics and most recently Human Resources. While Danielle’s interests in business and entrepreneurship keep her busy, her true passions are met with travel, mentorship, fitness, and spending time her husband and their two children.

Candace Myrick

Candace Myrick is from Decatur, Ga. Candace is a Licensed Master Social Worker and works as a School Counselor to amazing K-8th grade students. Candace is a two-time Valdosta State University Alumna. She received both her B.A. in Sociology and Master of Social Work in Valdosta, Ga. Candace also holds a Masters of Art in Christian Education from Dallas Theological Seminary. Candace discovered her passion for youth development at a very young age. Her journey was deeply influenced by a childhood friend during middle school, which shifted the trajectory of her life and opened her eyes to the power of influence. It was during this pivotal time that she realized how significant one’s influence can be, even at a young age, and how crucial it is to steward that influence well. This realization sparked a lifelong devotion to helping youth not only dream again but also become the healthiest, most confident versions of themselves, regardless of the challenges life may present. With a strong belief in the power of encouragement, she dedicates herself to coaching youth, inspiring them to step out on faith, try new things, and embrace their unique potential. A passionate advocate for empowering young girls, she consistently reminds them to thrive, build confidence, and use their influence to make a positive impact. Her extensive experience providing support services spans youth from diverse backgrounds—across various ages, socio-economic statuses, and cultures—allowing her to connect with and uplift every young person she encounters. When she’s not helping young people realize their dreams, she enjoys spending quality time with loved ones, traveling, and embracing adventurous activities like skydiving, ziplining, parasailing, and theme park visits. Whether attending concerts or seeking out the best dining experiences, she’s always up for exploring new places and making memories along the way.

NaChelle Bell

NaChelle Bell is a passionate advocate for mental health, youth empowerment, and creative expression. As a psychology major and Honors Program Scholar at Alabama A&M University, NaChelle combines her academic pursuits with her dedication to uplifting the next generation. Her journey began with a love for dance and a desire to understand human behavior, inspiring her to merge these passions to make a lasting impact. As Miss Freshman at her university and an intern with The Power of Girls, NaChelle uses her platforms to champion mental wellness, creativity, and self-expression.
NaChelle’s vision is to become a child psychologist, incorporating dance therapy into her practice to help children from underserved communities thrive. She also plans to establish a community center offering counseling, therapy, and creative outlets like dance and art. Through her work, NaChelle strives to create spaces where young people can feel valued, supported, and empowered to pursue their dreams unapologetically.
